This page describes the free local desktop app and the optional QuotaBar Pro service.
The local desktop app
QuotaBar reads usage from providers you enable. It can discover supported sign-ins from local files and browser storage. Credentials and settings are stored locally. It does not read the macOS Keychain or change other tools’ credential files. Requests to provider services use the credentials needed by that provider.
Some optional local integrations need additional access. Claude Enterprise spend capture on macOS needs Accessibility permission and reads the visible Claude Desktop Usage page. The Claude Code bridge receives local status-line reports. These sources have explicit freshness limits.
Cloud history is opt-in
A Pro device connects only after you enter a server address and device token and enable sync. The cloud receives the provider name, quota window, amount used, limit, reset time and observation time. Provider credentials, raw responses, local file paths and account identifiers are not part of this payload.
Cloud history is retained for up to 90 days with daily expiry processing. You can export readings and delete cloud history from the dashboard. Revoking a device stops new uploads from that token; it does not delete previously stored history. Turning sync off leaves local monitoring available.
Your Pro account
GitHub identifies your account when you sign in. The service stores your GitHub user ID, display name, session records and connected device names. Device tokens are stored as hashes; the full token is shown once when created. Use a device name that does not contain sensitive information.
Payments
Stripe handles payment details and subscription management, with AranoTech identified as the billing entity on billing terms, receipts and invoices. QuotaBar stores the customer and subscription references and entitlement state needed to provide Pro access. Card numbers are not stored by QuotaBar.
This website
The website serves its fonts and assets locally. It does not load advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Hosting services may record operational request information, including IP addresses, for delivery and security. Signed-in accounts use an essential session cookie; the marketing page does not require one.
Deleting your data
You can delete cloud history immediately in the dashboard. Account deletion removes devices, sessions and history once any paid subscription has ended; cancel renewal through Stripe first. Contact support@midnalabs.com for account deletion assistance. Stripe may retain payment records under its own policies. Only connect your devices to a server you trust.
